Liebherr Mobile Cranes Mining Machinery Air Conditioning Repair
Diagnosis and repair of cabin air-conditioning faults on mining and heavy-duty machinery.
CALL 069 268 0988Mining Machinery Air Conditioning Repair explained
Cabin air-conditioning on mining machinery works against high ambient temperatures, large glazed cabins, engine bay heat and constant dust. Repairs start with confirming the fault under load rather than at idle, because a system with a marginal charge or a partially blocked condenser will often cool acceptably until the machine is working. We test high and low side pressures against specification, measure cabin outlet temperature, inspect the condenser, belts, hoses and wiring, and carry out electrical fault finding on clutches, pressure switches, sensors and control modules. Repairs are completed with correct recovery, evacuation, charge by weight and a function test.
HVAC systems on mobile cranes
Separate cooling for the carrier and superstructure cabs, each with its own condenser, evaporator and controls. Two independent systems, long line runs into the superstructure and high glazing loads in the operator cab.
Liebherr equipment climate control
Larger Liebherr machines use high-capacity systems with long line runs and electronically controlled cab climate systems, so both leak detection and control diagnostics are required. Independent repair and maintenance services for equipment equipped with these HVAC systems. Not an authorised dealer and not affiliated with the manufacturer.
Common faults we find on mobile cranes
- Leaks in superstructure lines
- One cab cooling while the other does not
- Condenser fouling
- Electrical faults through slip rings and connectors
Diagnostic process
- Operator interview and fault confirmation with the machine running under load
- Visual inspection of condenser, belts, hoses, wiring and cabin filters
- High and low side pressure testing against the manufacturer's specification
- Electronic leak detection, dye tracing or nitrogen pressure testing where required
- Electrical fault finding on clutches, relays, pressure switches and control modules
- Written findings, parts list and repair recommendation before work proceeds
Repair approach
- Correct recovery of refrigerant before any component is opened
- Compressor, condenser, evaporator, drier, valve, blower and harness repairs or replacement
- System flushing and drier replacement after contamination or compressor failure
- Vacuum, leak hold test, charge by weight and oil balance to specification
- Function test across the full temperature range with cabin outlet readings recorded
Preventative maintenance recommendations
Test both systems separately at every service and inspect line routing into the superstructure.
